Elderberries Benefits:
*Cherished by folk and native cultures throughout history, the elderberry continues to be used today for various medicinal purposes. Its benefits include digestive support, immune boosting, and to relieve a variety of ailments including high blood pressure and cholesterol, diabetes, constipation, as well as general aging. The dried Elderberries are commonly made into tea, syrup or sauce and added to yogurt, cereal, pastries, ice cream, sparkling water or more as part of a healthy diet.
2 oz Loose Elderberries
Ingredients: Dry Elderberries whole
Recipe:
1 tablespoon Elderberries
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon Ceylon cinnamon
1/2 lemon juice
1 teaspoons Grated ginger
1 tablespoon honey or sweeten to taste.
Instructions:
Pour water in a medium saucepan and add the dry ingredients (we'll save the honey for later).
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 30-40 minutes or until the liquid is reduced by about half.
Remove from heat and let the mixture cool enough to be handled.
Pour through a strainer into a mason jar or glass bowl.
When the juice is cooled to lukewarm, add the raw honey to the elderberry juice and stir until completely combined.
